Manufacturing Machine Operator

Plastics Suppliers, Inc. is a Columbus based global leader in providing innovative plastic film solutions. We are the world's leader in the manufacturing and distribution of compostable, EarthFirst, bio-based polyester films to wide range of growing markets.

Our machine operators work 12-hour shifts, 8 am to 8 pm or 8 pm to 8 am – 3 days on 2 days off, 2 days on 3 days off.

Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour based on previous work experience.

Machine Operators are responsible for the following:

Set-up, operate and maintain manufacturing extrusion and slitting equipment.

Maintain housekeeping in work area.

Work safely, identify unsafe conditions, and take action to mitigate.

Complete set-up instructions, and set machine operating conditions via a computerized operator interface.

Read production schedules and work orders. Set-up raw materials and machine conditions to meet the requirements of the work order.

Calibrate operating equipment.

Start-up and shut down the production line.

Monitor machine operating conditions, alarms, and on-line gauges. Independently react to correct deviations.

Monitor machine for equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot and make needed corrections

Perform quality inspections and testing on product.

Complete computerized transactions to create inventory and to consume raw material.

Offer ideas for improving the performance of the operations.

Experience Required:

Ability to operate mechanical production equipment

Previous manufacturing machine operator experience preferred

Basic computer skills (some data entry is required)

Forklift experience is a plus
