EarthFirst Films by PSI, a global bioplastic film technology and manufacturing company, announces the successful completion of the first commercial run of PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoate) home compostable packaging film.

05.23.19 | [Columbus Ohio – May 23, 2019]  Columbus, OH – PSI announces a new Chief Operating Officer. Tom Bowden joined the company as the COO mid May. Bowden is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in flexible and rigid packaging industries. Tom is responsible for all global manufacturing operations, R&D and supply chain management. Prior to joining PSI, Bowden held senior leadership positions in ProAmpac’s Flexibles Division, Berry Plastics Specialty Films Division, and most recently at Anchor Packaging.

04.04.18 | Plastic Suppliers, Inc. announced today new financing facilities of $35 million including funding for capital expansion of $23 million to increase capacity in 2018 and 2019 in response to growing demand for its EarthFirst® sustainable packaging and label film businesses. Funding for the expansion comes from two facilities: an $8 million facility to expand and add manufacturing to its Ghent, Belgium site and a $27 Million facility to fund growth and add additional production capacity to its Columbus, Ohio manufacturing facilities. 
01.10.17 |   By: PRW November 16, 2016 Oil and gas company Total SA and lactic acid specialist Corbion NV are joining forces to develop bioplastics by creating a 50/50 joint venture to produce and market polylactic acid (PLA) polymers. The two partners plan to build a PLA polymerization plant with a capacity of 75,000 metric tons per year at Corbion's site in Thailand that already has a lactide (PLA monomer) production unit set to become part of the joint venture.
01.10.17 | Thyssenkrupp to build PLA plant in China By: Plastics News Europe January 9, 2017 Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG has developed its own manufacturing process for the bioplastic polylactid acid (PLA) and is now building the first commercial plant to produce its patented PLAneo technology in Changchun, China. In a statement on 14 December, the German industrial systems supplier said its customer was COFCO Corp., a supplier of agri-products offering a range of foodstuffs and services.
